My Story
My journey with photography began when I was just seven years old, the day my grandmother placed my very first camera in my hands. That simple gift sparked a passion that would shape my entire life. What started as childhood wonder grew into something much deeper—a calling to capture and preserve the most precious moments in people's lives.
During high school, I was fortunate to take college-level photography courses, where I learned not just the technical aspects of the craft, but began to understand photography as an art form. That early training gave me a strong creative foundation that I still draw on every time I pick up my camera.
Like many women, I paused my professional career to pour into motherhood—and honestly, that chapter changed everything about how I see the world. As a homeschool mom of four (two girls and two boys), my days are full and beautifully chaotic. In 2019, I returned to professional photography with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper understanding of what makes moments truly meaningful. Being a mom gave me eyes for the little things—the stolen glances, the belly laughs, the quiet tenderness that families share when they think no one's watching.
Our family lives on a homestead in rural Albion, Indiana, surrounded by chickens, dogs, cats, quail, and a few reptiles the kids have talked me into. There's something about homestead life that keeps you grounded—it's messy, it's real, and it's full of love. That same earthy, authentic energy is what I bring to every session. I'm not here to create stiff, overly posed portraits. I'm here to capture the warmth, the connection, and the genuine joy that makes your story yours.
